Jason Townes Managing Committee 

A deeply rooted Fremantle local, adventurer and storyteller, Jason brings extensive multi-industry expertise across the building, construction, and hospitality sectors. As the founder of Urban Fabric, a pioneering social enterprise established in Fremantle in 2003, he has spent over two decades developing and managing high-standard, community-minded affordable housing solutions. 

Jason will provide operational support and liaison with the local business community.

Tom Mùller  Managing Committee 

Tom Mùller is an established multidisciplinary artist whose expansive international practice spans site-responsive, temporal, and permanent works. His projects unfold at the intersection of architecture, social systems, and atmospheric sculpture, tracing subtle tensions between structure and sensation. Mùller’s work has been presented in major exhibitions and institutions including The National at Carriageworks in Sydney, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Adelaide Biennial, Biennale de la Chaux-de-Fonds, and the Northern Alps Triennale in Japan. He is the recipient of multiple Creative Australia grants, the inaugural Qantas Contemporary Art Prize, and a fellowship from the Department of Culture and the Arts. Mentored by Ilya Kabakov and educated at Emerson College, London, with a postgraduate Degree from Curtin University, Mùller is also co-founder and Artistic Director of the Fremantle Biennale, the Chair of Fremantle Culture Council, and the co-curator for Rare Silk. Tom  will provide operations management to the project

Wilf Johnston Managing Committee 

Wilf Johnston is a Fremantle-based energy executive with 25 years' experience across Australia's renewable energy industry. Based in White Gum Valley, he is Executive Director of Roquette Advisory, a boutique consultancy specialising in decarbonisation technology, where he advises businesses, NGOs and community groups on navigating Western Australia's energy transition.

Wilf's career spans the full arc of the solar industry — from early-stage project development and asset operations through to leading national businesses at some of the sector's largest listed companies. As General Manager for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific at Enphase Energy, and in earlier managing-director roles at Flex, SunEdison and SunPower, he held full profit-and-loss responsibility for operations of up to 110 people and revenues exceeding $85 million. Along the way he built lasting relationships with manufacturers, installers, financiers and policymakers across the country.

He has been an active contributor to industry governance and public policy, holding elected positions at the Clean Energy Council and establishing the Smart Energy Council's first Western Australian office. Much of his recent work supports early-stage organisations and local advocacy groups, frequently on a pro-bono basis.

Wilf holds Honours degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Commerce from the University of Western Australia and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors' Company Directors Course. He is a fluent French speaker and a long-standing advocate for practical, community-focused decarbonisation in Western Australia. Wilf will provide operational support to the project

Olivia Hill-Douglas  Managing Committee 

Olivia is a senior broadcast journalist and communications specialist. She’s been working in the media for more than 25 years across print, broadcast and digital platforms. During that time she’s led the ABC’s high-profile panel discussion program, Q+A, and helms the ABC’s evening rolling  news coverage from Perth. She’s held senior roles in Network Ten’s Melbourne newsroom and was the network’s producer based in Sochi for the 2014 Winter Olympics. She’s also worked in senior roles at Hard Quiz and The Weekly. Olivia began her career at The Age in Melbourne, before relocating to London for several years, working in fast-paced environments including The Times’ online newsroom and Dow Jones Newswires.

 Olivia holds  a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in history from Monash University, a Graduate Diploma in journalism from RMIT and an Executive MBA from RMIT. She’s a passionate consumer of news and current affairs, both international and domestic. 

She was a board member of the Melbourne Press Club for a number of years . Olivia will provide operational support and content management to the project

Simone Pirovich Managing Committee 

Simone is a highly respected cultural leader, commercial designer, and urban designer  with over 30 years of experience shaping retail, hospitality, and future environments. As the founder of a premier Western Australian commercial design studio established in 2003, her expertise explicitly spans the intersection of atmospheric design, public realm integration, and commercial functionality. A qualified Access Consultant and Associate Member of the Access Consultants Australia (ACA), Simone holds a Masters Degree in Disaster Design and Development (RMIT Architecture) and Master of Urban Design (UTS)  focused on building resilient communities through collaboration.  Simone will provide operational support to the project

Laura Beilby Managing Committee 

Laura is a creative producer, curator and arts management professional with over 25 years’ experience in the creative sector across the UK, France and Australia.  She has held management positions at leading institutions such as Magnum Photos, the City of Melbourne’s Creative Spaces organisation and was a co-founder of the recently relaunched Beaumaris Art Group, a Melbourne based art education and exhibition space.  Within the local arts community, Laura was an early contributor to the PS Art Space team and served as Festival Manager of FotoFreo, an internationally recognised festival informed by her time with the Rencontres d'Arles contemporary photography festival in France. She currently serves as Creative Producer of First Lights, a place-responsive drone light and sound experience presented by the Fremantle Biennale.  Throughout her career, Laura has remained committed to the transformative potential of art as a vehicle for community building and meaningful social change.  Laura will provide operational support and content management to the project

Leo Visser  Managing Committee 

Leo is a software developer, Business manager  and established business owner with corporate experience managing complex software infrastructure and system integrations. A long-standing Fremantle local originally from the Netherlands, he balances corporate leadership with civic engagement and community-led initiatives. Leo will provide membership support services,  financial management  and IT systems support.

Alice Humphries  Advisory Committee  

Alice is an acclaimed composer whose diverse practice bridges contemporary classical, jazz, and experimental music, focusing specifically on immersive sound worlds inspired by natural phenomena and ecological relationships. Her work has been performed across Australia and internationally, supported by commissions from premier organizations including Musica Viva, Ensemble Offspring, the Melbourne Recital Centre, and Tura New Music. With high-profile achievements including international tours of her orchestral works, 

Elliot Smith  Advisory Committee 

Elliot is the Head Producer, Engineer, and Studio Manager at Sundown Studios, one of Western Australia’s premier recording facilities. With more than 16 years of professional experience spanning live performance, technical audio engineering, education, and studio management

Joanna Robertson  Advisory Committee

An award-winning artist, educator, and prominent cultural leader, Joanna is the founder of Kidogo Arthouse, one of Western Australia’s most influential independent arts organizations. A graduate of Dublin’s National College of Art and Design, her distinguished four-decade international career includes global exhibitions, extensive academic lectures, and high-profile residencies spanning the US to the Arctic Circle. Having championed skills-based fine art and community arts spaces in Fremantle since 1993

Brendan Moore  Advisory Committee

Brendan is a Whadjuk Noongar man from Walyalup with profound cultural and institutional ties to the Fremantle region. Bringing over 13 years of internal operational experience with the City of Fremantle and a crucial leadership role on the Wadjemup Aboriginal Reference Group.
